Mission Statement

UPDATE (5/17/22)
When I launched Zygote Nation, it was a journal for me to chronicle my experiences pursuing a life of optimal health and wellness. Accordingly, I began to write about products and ideas I came across and knowledge I gained.

I am not stepping away from that. But recently, I have become keenly interested in the nascent US hemp industry. Thus, I am expanding the scope of this blog to include content on all aspects of hemp (e.g., industrial applications, economic impact), not just the sector dealing with hemp extracts and their potential health and medicinal benefits.

The rest of my original approach remains the same:

I like being on the cutting edge of understanding on holistic health and longevity issues. Reflecting that, Zygote Nation aims to inform and entertain you. Perhaps, too, it will challenge your beliefs and encourage you to embrace new ideas.

The website includes:

Feature Articles, well-researched pieces on nutrition and wellness topics

-and-

Event Coverage, my write-ups of notable vendors and interesting products I come across at food festivals and longevity conferences.

I am neither a medical professional nor a health scientist, and I make no claim of being an expert. Please read the content with that in mind. I encourage you, the reader, to do your own research, experiment with your own body, and determine what works best for you.

When I attend an event with tens, if not hundreds, of vendors shilling their wares, the fact that I cover only a selection of products takes nothing away from the other vendors. I admire the entrepreneurial spirit and respect the sacrifice—and risk—it takes to bring a product to market. I simply limit my coverage to a small group of items that are new to me or catch my eye for some reason (e.g., being refreshingly different) on that particular day.

I do not accept free product for review. This is my way of avoiding the perception of any conflict of interest. In most cases, I purchase the products I cover. Sometimes, however, I will write about a product based on a sample a vendor is giving out to everyone who visits the vendor's table/booth at an event. I will inform you should there ever be a circumstance that is an exception to this rule.

Over time, I expect that Zygote Nation’s breadth and scope of coverage will grow. The website’s aesthetics and ease of use will remain paramount, as will my focus on your enjoyment.

Lastly, my thanks to Fathema Khanom for creating the Gab social media icon I am using.
