Michael Sirak has spent years as a reporter and editor. He created Zygote Nation to combine his love of writing with his free-time enthusiasm for discovering new holistic health products, being on the cusp of wellness hacks and longevity insights, and connecting with the people on the cutting edge of improving the quality of our lives. The website reflects his thirst for learning and his commitment to lead an experience-rich, meaningful life with a sense of boldness and adventure. He has great respect for the entrepreneurial spirt. He is no one’s shill, but will not shy away from crediting people who he thinks deserve it. In his free time, he enjoys soaking up sunlight, preparing guacamole, and spending quality time with his mitochondria.

Patricia Sirak wrote Zygote Nation’s Thrifty Thriver column in 2019. She's on sabbatical from that role, with an open-ended invitation to return to it at any time, or to contribute to the blog in any new way she wants. She is also her brother Michael’s chief idea-bouncer-off-ee. She is a former grocery and body-care buyer for several natural food retailers. Her extensive knowledge includes a focus on gut health, the importance of medicinal mushroom supplementation, and the connection between emotions and well-being. Having been her own wellness experiment for nearly 40 years, she maintains an unwavering belief in the power of nutrition and delights in discovering the highest quality food, supplements, and lifestyle products. Her current favorite hack is enhancing the body’s hydration using a hydrogen ion/mineral formula. One currently can find her exploring local treasures or sitting by her salt lamp reading about the latest research on longevity.
